A radon mitigation system (or radon abatement system) is installed using a ventilation system that safely routes radon gas from below your home to the outside. There are several mitigation methods depending on your home but most of our services utilize discreet piping and a fan system designed to effectively lower radon levels in your home. The process is typically completed within one day.
Yes. All of our radon mitigation systems include a 5-Year Limited Workmanship Warranty from PureTech Home Services. This covers the system components we install and our workmanship. The in-line fan is covered separately by the manufacturer’s own warranty, which is included in your system packet. Our warranty automatically transfers to future owners if you sell your home, so long as the system remains in place and operating.
It depends. It is quite common that a home buyer's contract will use a radon contingency requiring testing, and if elevated levels are found, a mitigation system. Elevated levels with no mitigation system will most likely affect your home's value negatively.
Installing a radon mitigation system typically resolves this and even enhances your home's resale value, as buyers increasingly value safety improvements and peace of mind knowing radon risks have already been addressed. Radon is a very well-known hazard among construction outfits. So much so that new construction homes very often have radon mitigation systems installed by default.
